T Dur
Concert installation for 8 to 32 horn-speakers, samovar and orchestra
Wait and see and drink tea. The heart of «T Dur» is a samovar. The tea kettle, a central element of Russian-Central Asian tea culture, plays an important social role as a meeting place in both family and public life. Pausing, taking time for encounters, everyday hospitality - aspects of this tea culture form the thematic underpinnings of the interactive concert installation «T Dur». The audience does not play the role of passive, quiet listeners, but is invited to help themselves to tea at the samovar, to chat, to enjoy the teahouse ambience and thus to participate in the creation of the live soundtrack. The Chuchchepati Orchestra sees itself as a kind of atmospheric amplifier, sometimes gaining the upper hand, sometimes sinking, but always significantly influencing the atmosphere in the room.
